David joined the Ship Registry’s technical policy team in 2021. David began his career at sea in the Oil & Gas industry working on board tankers, before returning to the Island in 2017 as a fleet personnel officer, acting as a focal point for the planning and deployment of seafarers to LNG vessels. Prior to this, David completed a degree in Aerospace Technology at Sheffield Hallam University. 

David has a future focused mind and looks forward to working with the Ship Registry to develop and implement regulations aimed at tackling the industry’s biggest challenges such as decarbonisation and water pollution. Having worked in the industry through the COVID-19 pandemic and witnessing its effects on seafarers, David also has a keen interest in the continued development of SOLAS and MLC for maintaining the highest standards of safety and welfare for seafarers at sea.

In his spare time, David enjoys hiking around the island and spending time with his partner and young family.
