After much deliberation, we are delighted to announce that the annual Isle of Man Ship Registry golf day will go ahead in 2020 and is now open for entries! In conjunction with Isle of Man Maritime, the event will take place at Rowany Golf Club at 1pm on Thursday 27th August 2020 – this is the day before the ‘new’ Manx Bank Holiday so a great way to start the four day weekend whilst raising money for a vital cause. All funds raised will be donated to charities supporting those who work at sea.
The competition will be held as a 4 player per team stableford event with the highest 2 scores on each hole counting towards the team score. In addition, there will be a number of prize holes, including a return of the longest drive competition.
Afterwards, the prize presentation and raffle will take place in clubhouse and players can enjoy a buffet and a glass of beer or wine.
The cost of entering a team of 4 players remains unchanged at £120.00. For this, all players will receive:
- Competition entry (team prizes for 1st/2nd/3rd, individual prizes for 4x spot prizes)
- Hot buffet afterwards
- Goody bag
- On course refreshments
As in previous years, each hole on the course can be sponsored and named and this is a great way to support the event. We will place the sponsors’ name/logo on the tee box and on the scorecard and we will acknowledge all sponsors in media coverage where possible. The cost of sponsoring a hole is £100.00.
Please note that for both team entries and hole sponsorship, we have to abide by a ‘first-come’ process so please respond as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Please email martyn.oates@gov.im for entries and sponsorship. At the current time, Isle of Man borders are closed to non-residents so regrettably we are unable to accept entries from outside the Isle of Man.
