Proposed Changes to Ship Registry Fees - Have Your Say

The Ship Registry is consulting on proposals to change its fees with effect from 1 April 2026.

For 2026/27 the Ship Registry proposes to –
1. increase all existing fees by 3% (rounded up to the nearest £1, £5 or £10)(subject to the following);
2. increase the fixed fee for new build passenger ships from £11,820 to £20,000;
3. include a reduced fee for demise out renewals of £200;
4. increase fees from £430 to £650 for closing the following types of ships from the register - cargo ships, passenger ships and commercial yachts;
5. consolidate fees for the survey and certification of commercial yachts prior to entry onto the commercial yacht fees scheme; and
6. make minor drafting clarifications.
