The Isle of Man Ship Registry can confirm it is investigating the death of a Filipino seafarer, sailing aboard the IOMSR flagged LPG tanker 'Inge Kosan' operated by BW Epic Kosan.
IOMSR director Cameron Mitchell said the crew member's next of kin had been informed of their passing. He said the ship registry and I would like to pass on our deepest condolences to the seafarer's family and loved ones.
The Ship Registry was notified of the seafarers passing on April 11 and the investigation commenced on the same day.
Local authorities have confirmed that the deceased seafarer had tested positive for COVID 19 as did 11 out of 12 of his fellow crewmembers and the Ship Registry and Company continue to monitor the health and well-being of all onboard.
The Inge Kosan has now departed Vanuatu waters after being released by Vanuatu authorities on April 21 2021.
